What are the benefits of jagananna ammavodi.ap.gov.in?

Who would not want to have a fixed financial amount being deposited into the bank account in return for sending their children to school? Of course, everyone will.

Poverty has always been an obstacle in the path of poor students to attain a quality education. The Amma Vodi scheme has been implemented by the government to remove poverty from being a hindrance for the students belonging to the below poverty line segment of the society. Through this scheme, the government also aims to eradicate prevailing child labor in the state.

It is due to this reason the Government of Andhra Pradesh has set a bait before every individual. The government wants to encourage the number of school-going students, thereby increasing the literacy rate of the state. The State also aims to bring down the dropout ratio of the government and pirate schools.

A fixed amount of rupees 15,000 would be deposited annually to the bank account of guardians/parents of school-going children below the poverty line. This amount would be transferred to the mother/guardian’s account of every needy until the student attains an intermediate level of education. This scheme has promised to deliver the given amount in the bank account of beneficiaries every year, particularly in the month of January. The Amma Vodi scheme has already been implemented and enacted in the year 2023. The Government successfully transferred the given stipulated amount in the bank accounts of the needy whose number ranges upto 43 Lakhs. The Amma Vodi scheme has been calculated to benefit around 82 Lakhs students in the year 2023. What would be a better start of a scheme than an enormous success similar to this?

Mother/guardian of the students of BPL(Below Poverty Line) would be provided a fixed amount of rupees 15,000. However, the government also claimed that it would deduct a fixed amount of rupees 1,000 from this amount in order to improve and maintain the sanitation and hygiene in the government-run schools. The state has already spent an amount of 6400 crore rupees for the effective implementation of this scheme. The criteria of 75% attendance which was earlier made mandatory are now exempted due to the prevailing situation of COVID-19.  The government has stated that it has worked upon increasing the number of beneficiaries as compared to that of the previous year. By deducting an amount of 1,000 rupees the Government has also ensured the effective working of sanitation workers.

An alternative of financial aid-Laptop

The Amma Vodi scheme has been modified this year by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The second phase has been designed in such a way that students are provided a resource to take up online classes well. Since, the spread of corona brought the education sector to a temporary halt as those who did not have access to mobile phones or laptops could not attend classes. Therefore, the government came up with an effective idea, keeping in mind the present demand of education. The government proposed to provide laptops to students of classes 9-12 instead of 15,000 rupees. Those parents who wish to have laptops for their wards should give up one year of their stipulated amount and obtain a laptop.
