Who Is Eligible for PM Modi Scholarship Scheme

The eligibility criteria for the Pradhan Mantri (PM Modi) Scholarship Yojana 2023 vary depending on the level and type of scholarship being applied for. The PM scholarship is available for students pursuing various courses such as Ph.D., engineering, medicine, dental, veterinary, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, B.Sc. (Nursing, Agriculture), MBA, MCA, and more.

For the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) and Assam Rifles

  •  Candidates include the children and widows of deceased CAPFS and AR personnel.
  • The wards of personnel disabled due to causes attributable to government service, and
  • The wards of ex-CAPFS and AR personnel who have received gallantry awards.
  • In addition, children and widows of retired and serving CAPFS and AR personnel (personnel below officer rank) pursuing a professional degree course in the relevant fields can also apply.
  • New applicants must have scored at least 60% marks in their minimum entry qualification,
  • While renewal applicants must pass the exam with a minimum of 50% marks.

For the State Police Forces,

  • Eligible candidates must be pursuing a degree program in the relevant fields, and
  • Have scored at least 60% marks in their minimum entry qualification if they are new applicants.
  • Renewal applicants must have scored a minimum of 50% marks.
  • A grace period of one year is available for renewal of the scholarship.

It is important to note that the minimum entry qualifications vary for different professional courses. Additionally, only professional courses recognized by government regulatory bodies such as AICTE, Medical Council of India (MCI), and University Grants Commission (UGC) will be considered. Wards who have completed a diploma course and been admitted to the 2nd year of a technical or professional bachelor degree course (such as B.E/B.Tech) through lateral entry are also eligible for the scholarship. For applicants who have completed their 12th from the CBSE board, the percentage marks will be considered from the best five subjects.

Lastly, it should be noted that students can only apply for the PM scholarship for one course. If they apply for scholarships in multiple courses, their application will be considered invalid.

 

Who Is Not Eligible for PM Modi Scholarship Scheme

The following are the conditions that make a student ineligible for the Pradhan Mantri (PM Modi) Scholarship 2023:

  • Students pursuing a Master’s Degree Course.
  • Students who are currently employed or serving in any job.
  • Students who are studying abroad.
  • Students who are enrolled in a distance learning course.
  • Applicants who have already availed of the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2023.
  • Selected students who change their course/college and get fresh admission in the same academic year will have their application rejected.

 

PM Modi Scholarship Scheme Rewards & Payment

The PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2023 provides rewards to a total of 5,500 students each year. Boys will receive a benefit of INR 2,500 per month while girls will receive INR 3,000 per month, adding up to an annual sum of INR 36,000 for each girl and INR 30,000 for each boy.

The scholarship payment will be made through Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) and Aadhaar Payment Bridge, and will be transferred directly to the student’s bank account. If a student fails to score marks equal to or more than 50%, the scholarship will be discontinued. PM Modi Scholarship Scheme Terms And Conditions

The following are the terms and conditions for the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) 2023 application:

  1. A duly signed confidential certificate must be submitted by the Vice-Chancellor/Dean/Principal/Vice Principal/Registrar/Associate Dean/Deputy Registrar/Director/Deputy Director.
  2. A certificate issued by the Bank Manager, stating the seeding of the Aadhar Card with the student’s Bank account, must be submitted.
  3. The mark sheet of Class 10th must be submitted as proof of the date of birth.
  4. Complete mark sheets of any of the courses obtained, Class 12/Graduation (3 years)/Diploma (6 semesters), whichever course has been completed, must be submitted.
  5. A copy of the first page of the student’s bank passbook or a canceled cheque of the account, if applicable, along with the category certificate must be submitted.
  6. Aadhar Card must be submitted.
  7. If the ward is born after the retirement of ESM, a self-certificate/affidavit of ESM is also required.
  8. All the above-mentioned documents should be submitted only in PDF/JPEG or JPG format.
  9. A maximum of two wards of an Ex-Servicemen can apply for this Scholarship.
  10. A certificate of Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Coast Guard Personnel duly signed by ZSB/CG HQ must be submitted.

 

Some Popular PM Modi Scholarship Scheme for 12th Passes Students

1) PM Scholarship available for an Ex-serviceman

Ex-serviceman means those who are the Ex-members of  Army/Navy or Air force. Here PM Scholarship is provided by the central government for Ex-Servicemen and their widows (who passed away during their duties). The main objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the candidate to make their future brighter in terms of monetary independence. The Awards for the candidate will be for 30k-36k per year. Last Date to Apply is – 15th April 2023

 

2) PM Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles

Another Scholarship Scheme is also provided by the Central Government for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles by the welfare and rehabilitation board, Ministry of Home Affairs. The Scheme is specifically for the widows of Centralarmed forces and Assam rifles personnel and dependent wards of state police personnel to pursue the first professional degree at UG and PG level. The monthly reward is Rupees 3000 for the selected candidates. Must apply before 15th April 2023.

 

3) The National Merit Cum Means PM Scholarship

The main Objective of merit cum means scholarship is to thoroughly support the economically weaker sections of our society and help in reducing the rate of dropouts in class VIII. By following this, the students, as well as parents, will be encouraged to continue their children’s studies and fulfil their education dreams. This Scheme is running under the Department of Higher Education, Government of India. The Candidate has to secure a minimum of 55% marks in the class of VII.

4) PM Modi Scholarship for RPF/RPSF

This Scheme offered for the RPF/RPSF under Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme by The Ministry of Railways, Government of India. This Scheme is only for the widows/Wards of ex RPF/RPSF personnel. All those Selected candidates will get INR 2,250 per month. Applicants need to apply for this scholarship before 15th November 2023
